Tucked away on the south side of Glasgow between Newlands and Langside, Weirs Cricket Club is a small and energetic group of cricketers. We cater to players of all levels. Our first team plays in the Scottish National League and we compete in other competitions from 20 over per side mid-week evening games to 100 over Saturday matches in the Western Union. Welcome to Weirs CC 2009 season.
The 1st XI is looking forward to our 4th season in the national leagues. With some new faces at the club we anticipate some more good close games with some familiar opponents and some new.
Great news for the 2nd team, they've been promoted to the WDCU 2 div. This is a fantastic achievement for Ibby and his team and we're hoping they'll be successful at maintaining the high standards they set last year.
Juniors
The junior section is now beginning to take shape after some hard work over the last few years. Practice will be on Monday nights from 6.30-8.00pm.
We're running a team in the U11's league this year and hopefully for our star performers maybe some U13 cricket later in the season!!!!!
As always we'll be attending as many of the Kwik cricket festival as possible, Weirs CC have become a fixture in these events.
